Don’t get put off by the reviews, who incidentally all seemed to like it but
seemed to be unable to describe it without using ‘New Age’. There are a few
things wrong with this movie, but for the most part its a pretty good
introduction to the questions that have been re-asked since the pursuit of
the discipline of quantum physics. One of the problems is that the people
involved seem to think they are new questions, and that they may have new
answers .. I believe that they have been asked and answered multiple times
before, but you’ll have to see the movie and judge for yourself.

Viva Mexico
We found this neat little place in the food court next to the Rialto. Run by
a couple of cute old Mexican ladies, and offering great value for money. Its
Mexican slightly adapted for New Zealand ingredients but fantastic
nonetheless. Heartily recommended.
No rugby this weekend
Whats a man to do. For the first time in quite a few weeks there is no games
of Rugby to watch. I guess I’ll have to watch the Warriors lose a close game
instead.
UPDATE 2005/07/16: And they proved me wrong
In one of the better come backs you will see, the warriors came back from
22-8 to win 24-22. Just goes to show, I should expect them to lose every week.
Quiz Night version 2
Well we found a much better place tonight. The hut, out in Upper Hutt. The
questions were asked nice and fast, and the answers tallied fast as well.
Its also a really nice place, nice staff, nice food and drink and great
prices. We sucked again, chose the wrong round for our bonus, but we were
hanging in at 3rd place until the last round. Next time.
Off down South
We are off to Dunedin today, Laurel has her interview at the School of
Medicine down there on Monday, so we decided to make a weekend of it.
So leaving the dogs and cat and house in the capable hands or the parents
and off for a mini break. Back to work on Tuesday.
The worlds slowest quiz
We went to the JJ Murphys pub quiz last night. And ‘Team Pocky’ (I know,
lame name) sucked pretty badly. Getting 73/100 right and coming in at 8th
equal. I blame the fact that we were all falling asleep because it took so
daaaammmmnnn llllooooonnnnnnggggg for the guy to read out the questions.
We plan to try another pub next week, one thats a little more practised in
the art of throwing a pub quiz night.
Well that was a Shellacking!
What a game, Dan Carter was magnificent. I was worried in those first 10
minutes, but when the AB’s got their defense sorted it was all over. I have
to say how utterly fantastic the Lions fans are. Gracious in defeat and
seeming to thoroughly enjoy themselves. I cant say the same for the lame
bunch of boys from the Hutt who were standing by us for the second half. But
lame dickheads from the Hutt aside it was a great night out.
Watching the game along with half of Wellington and what seemed to be half
the UK and Ireland as well.
Too easy again.
“Maoris have to move on, and forget about all this carry on, I mean
traditions.” Says the stupid probation officer, who cant pronounce the word
Maori, let alone Poroporoaki. What astounding arrogance .. what are we
living in 1830 still? Crusading white woman out to save us savages from our
savage ways. Go to hell you stupid bint.
Mainstream New Zealanders
This is just too easy really, Don Brash has managed to shoot himself in the
foot yet again. Defining both Maori and Homosexuals as not being mainstream,
when talking about how ‘Mainstream’ New Zealanders are getting a raw deal.
Just goes to show they really did mean it with the Iwi vs Kiwi billboards
they have. And what with Labour knee jerking and ripping out any policies
that mention Maori … its going to be a really long 3 years.
