Mongrel + Ruby on Rails = Speed
So the blog is now running on mongrel, with mod_proxy and apache. Its going a lot faster but im sure ive busted some stuff, if you notice anything let me know.
Sanshiro Sugata
Akira Kurosawa’s directorial debut. This is a good film, it would have been much better without the edits the censors made to it back in the 1940’s. Unfortunately they cut a huge pile of film out of it, and it was lost in the post war confusion.
Its still worth a watch, in fact ive yet to watch a Kurosawa film that wasnt good.
Yum Cha and Birthday parties
Today we went to Regal for yum cha, yummy. I as usual ate way too much, they just keep bringing it, I just keep eating it. After that we went to look at car seats for Crayon, and for birthday presents for Amelia.
Then it was off to Amelia’s 2nd birthday party which was a lot of fun, but I was too full to do much except sit around.
Crayon is a boy!
At the scan today the scan guy said “Well theres no doubt, hes definitely a boy”.
So finally we know. yay!

Little Miss Sunshine
We went to see this yesterday, I fully recommend it, its very funny and kinda feel good too. So on a nasty rainy day like this, its the perfect movie to go see.

Im back, tired and talked out but back. I’m glad its a long weekend coming up, cos I need to catch up on some sleep.
3.5 hours on a bus .. and the couple behind me used the word quaint at least 17 times.
I didnt start counting until they had said it a few times. Lemme tell ya Fiji is a great place if you can avoid the annoying as hell tourists.
