Laurel went in her for ankle reconstruction yesterday, it all went smoothly
and she seems to be recovering well. I took some

Laurel is now back at home, and already trying to get back to work.
The Halo 2 ads have finished but now there are ads for ‘Anacondas crappy
crap crap’ or something like that. Some really bad looking movie anyway. I
blame Cat.

mailing list. I whacked up a little proof of concept of how spawning a
search of the Open Worldcat (essentially searching lots of other libraries)
could work. If you search on something and get no results, Koha will give
you the option to either search again, or you can try searching Open
Worldcat through google. You can see it in action

UPDATE 2004/11/14: Project Gutenberg
Ok, heres what im thinking to do. Project Gutenberg make their catalog
available in XML, and they even have a simple example in perl of how to
parse it. It should be very easy to grab the catalog, parse it, and load it
into koha as items of itemtype WEB. Comments? Suggestions?
The steelers are on 6 game winning streak now, coming into this weekend,
after beating first the unbeaten Patriots, then the unbeaten Eagles. In game
against the Eagles they were without Duce Staley but Jerome Bettis was a
monster, rushing for 149 yards and eclipsing his season total of 125 coming
into the game.
As there is no NHL season to date (cos the players and owners are bickering
little 3 year olds) I’m following the NFL instead.

Ok, in the 2 hours of tv I just watched im fairly sure Halo2 was advertised
in every single ad break. Enough already, or at least just make some
slightly different ones. If I hear “I need a weapon” one more time, I might
have to throw the remote at the tv.
Prompted by a message on the Koha list today, I resurrected my script to
fetch rating info about items in Koha from Amazon. And with the help of Bob,
got the resulting ratings displaying in the opac.

Amazon from the koha opac details screen.

I found this today when I was
doing a google just to see what information about the Treaty of Waitangi
was online. Its a really good list of treaty breaches, and goes a long way
to explaining why the latest seabed and foreshore legislation is so hard to
bear. It just builds on a 164 year history of unjust treatment.
Who decides to make these movies … seriously, there must be better books
to make into movies than these. Im pretty sure the entire movie was just a
cleverly disguised advertisement for prozac .. or not even cleverly
disguised. If its possible for an autobiographical movie to be formulaic,
then this was. Right down there with Sylvia, dont bother.
