Man what a waste of 3 hours. It turns out that if you deploy a tangram
schema under perl 5.6 then you cant use perl 5.8 to access it. At least
thats what I think went wrong. Working now with both machines running 5.6

Trinity Roots went off
This was a great concert, lots of energy lots of good vibes. There was a big
crowd and 80% of them were dancing along. For a band that gets pretty close
to zero airplay (their songs dont fit the not longer than 3 minutes 30
seconds format that radio stations love) they have a huge following. Well
worth the money, the only shame was it was on the same night as Rachels
party which looked like it was gonna be a lot of fun.
We now have a laptop
Laurel was talking with me on aim last night, and shes off and bought a
compaq presario 2100 something or other laptop. For some ridiculously cheap
price in the US. It has built it wifi so shes gonna take it to starbucks and
see if she can get on the net from there. I seem to be infecting her with
the computer bug.
The Olympics have started.
I really think they should have 2 Olympics as lots of people have jokingly
suggested. A juiced one, and a natural one.
Id watch both, the natural one to see real athletes competing. And the
juiced one on the off chance someone has taken so much performance enhancing
drugs their heart explodes.
Logbot in #koha
Well ive gotten a hacked at version of timebot, which in turn is a hacked at
version of Funbot, running as a logger in #koha now. It has a search
interface at http://www.koha.org/irc/. So
knock yourselves out.
Going to see Trinity Roots on Saturday
Yay, Ive been looking forward to seeing them ever since I bought their new
album a few months ago. Im fairly sure their live set will be quite
different from the album, but from all accounts they rule live.
Utter wankers!!
Whoever pushed over the headstones, and burnt the Jewish chapel in Makara
are complete and utter arsehats. Big cowardly arsehats at that. As are all
racists.
I tell you who is also an Arsehat, David Zwartz, who seems to be hellbent on
linking the descretation with the NZ Govts criticism of Israel. He’s doing
himself or the Jewish community no favours at all. Anyway who cant seperate
what a government does/say from what the people in the country say/do is an
arsehat. And anyone that takes offense at NZ criticising Israel for trying
to illegally obtain passports for two of its agents is a moron.
Quite funny.
I just saw this press release by the NZ Govt.
You’ve got it – we’ll confiscate it

Press Release: New Zealand Government
Now the press release is actually about P, and the hardline stance the Govt
are planning to take against it. It could apply equally to the Foreshore and
Seabed, or the history of NZ. Just struck me as funny thats all.
Koha as a teaching tool at the University of Buffalo
I found this today. Ive
known for a while UB has been using Koha. But its great to see such an
informative site, and to see what they have been doing with it.
Scary
I just wrote a script to convert a database into Koha format all from memory.
Which is a little bit scary, it seems I know the acquisitions/biblio module
off by heart.
