I spent some time the other night working on the Koha bot to get it to work with the new search API in Koha 3.0. So now you can fire the bot up, and it will hop on AIM and then people can query your catalogue through it.
Next is getting the login function going again so you can use the bot to check what items you have overdue etc.
After a ton of hard work by a lot of people, the alpha version of Koha 3.00 was released. Here is the email from the Release Manager.

This is the first packaged release of Koha 3. Prior to the official stable
release of Koha 3.0, software issues, bugs, and unimplemented features must

Koha 3.0 Release Manager
Check it out, test it, report bugs .. send patches to fix those bugs. First patch sender gets a chocolate fish 🙂
After a ton of bugfixes, and features added over the last few months, Koha 3.0 is ready for an alpha release.

It was a great night out, good food, good wine, good people and fantastically organised. Kudos to Catalyst, the sponsors and the people who helped out with organising the event.
I got gitstats going the other day for the Koha git public repository. It has a few little glitches but mostly works fine, take a look.
If you look at the graphs you can see the frequency of patches is increasing, so thats all good.
Russ is working at my house today, so we are making use of the big tv.
Makes seeing huge wbs diagrams much easier.
I’m currently shifting this blog to wordpress, it was getting to hard to maintain typo with limited shell access.

A big thanks to Russ who had an old sony lithium battery that fit our camera. I charged it up last night, and its all going fine this morning.
Woo hoo.
We can start going photo mad again.
The battery in our digital camera died, and Sony want us to pay 149$ for a new battery, like hell. So at the moment we are only using the old school film camera, so not so many photos online. We probably will buy a new digital camera at some point, but to pōhara at the moment.
I’ve been playing with git and aquamacs, and so far im not hating it.
It doesnt have quite as many features as the cvs mode does, but its getting there and it has pretty much everything you need. Here it is in action
