Its been said before, but please please please if there is a God don’t let George Lucas ever write any dialogue ever again. Seriously.
The effects were great, the soundtrack was excellent, the plot was iffy and the dialogue was positively awful. DragonballZ has better dialogue and most of that is just ‘heeaawrghh’ and ‘gnnnooargh’. Best of the three new movies, but could have been so much better

In Good Company
Hmmmm, watchable I guess best sums up this movie. Nothing special, but not
horrendously cheesy either. Was less humourous than I had hoped but not bad
overall.
Kingdom of Heaven
Okish .. some good action scenes, pretty crap plot, and some average action. But quite fun to watch on the big screen.
The Village
Another one from fatso.co.nz.
Not what I was expecting but a good watch nonetheless. Quite a few little
twists and a great cast.
Man On Fire
Another DVD from fatso, and a good watch. I was pleasantly suprised by this
one actually and Laurel even kinda liked it. Which is pretty good for an
action/drama. I think thats because it had a reasonably good twisty plot.
Supersize me, and Spellbound
These we 2 of the DVDs we got from fatso and they were both good in their own
ways.
Supersize Me, as you are probably all aware of, is the story of a guy who
decided to eat McDonalds for a month. It was entirely predictable, although
suprisingly not by his doctors. Good for a watch .. a little to michael
moore/self serving for my liking.
journey to the National Spelling Bee. Its compelling watching, you feel sad
for some kids, laugh with others and bemoan the parents of most. Well worth
a look.
fatso.co.nz
Im currently using www.fatso.co.nz to
rent DVD’s. So far so good, it has a nice turn around on sending them out
and a huge selection. The thing we like best is that it has a really good
selection of documentary/art films.
The Incredibles
If you want to giggle, go see this. Its pure nonsense of the very best kind,
a good way to wile away 2ish hours on a rainy day.
Zatoichi
Donna bought me the DVD of this movie for christmas, boy I’m glad she did,
its a great movie. I won’t give too much away since its one you should
definetly see for yourself, apart from saying its all about a blind
swordsman.
Without a paddle
Eeewww eeewww eeewww. We only went to see this because it was filmed in NZ
and one of the actors flipped us the bird when we were eating out last year.
It was complete bollocks, funny perhaps twice.
Garden State
I enjoyed this movie a lot. Its unpretentious, funny and human plus it has a
fantastic soundtrack. Its not preachy, it is a bit cheesy in parts but never
unbearably so. It opens in theatres here tomorrow, so if its a rainy weekend
and you have nothing to do, I’d recommend going to see this.
