Tired but Happy.

Well installed knoppix on Russ’s
machine with no real hitches. Knoppix Is pretty
fantastic with its hardware detection. Everything just works.
Then we were treated to a great game of rugby. All blacks vs the Pacific
Islanders. Which the All Blacks won, but which was much closer than a lot of
people might have thought which im glad about, as I think the concept of
Pacific Islanders team is a great one.
Then we beat Australia in basketball, a great turn around from the 30 point
thrashing we’d received the night before.
And to cap it all of, Daniel Vettori had a blinder and we beat the West
Indies in a NatWest ODI cricket final.

Small Horse to you Daniel.

I stand corrected.

Owen tells me that the speed increase they are seeing at NPL is due to tweaks
Joshua has made to the mysql configuration. Yay Joshua. So thats all good. I
suggested that when the replication is all working as well it might be even
faster, which worried Owen slightly.

<owen:#koha> If it gets any faster, it’ll travel back in time! What
if Koha travels back in time and kills chris! A paradox will destroy the
universe!

Im hoping Joshua will see this and post a link to his documentation for the
tweaks 🙂

Home, Land and Sea

The title track for the album of the same name from Trinity Roots. Is a haunting song with challenging lyrics. I think especially poignant at this time, which I feel is a pivotal period in New Zealands history, and the decisions made in the next few years will decide how our descendants judge this generation.

“From the tail of the fish to the tip, many all around this world want a piece of this land. Seems like nothing, nothing no is gonna stop it, I know it, I can feel it.”
