Laurel and Tom went to see this exhibition which is set up on Santa Monica
beach. Laurel really liked it, she said “Its a really cool
installation/film/collection of photos of animals together with people.
Really powerful works in a beautiful setting, everyone there seemed pretty
transfixed by it all”.

One week to go.
This time next week Russ and I will be winging our way towards Paris for KohaCon 2006. I
have my speech done for the first day, still working on the one for the
second day, I hope to finish that off tomorrow. The itinerary for the
developers week is online and it looks like
we are going to be busy.
Worlds fastest haircut
So I went for a haircut this morning at Cut-n-go in Newtown and had the
fastest haircut Ive ever had. The guy started off with a straight razor and
a comb and just hacked big chunks of hair off, then speedy snipping with
scissors, followed up with a quick buzz with the clippers. I think it took
about 7 minutes all up. And it doesnt even look bad.
Update from Laurel
lazza:nah. i went to ross then i got dizzy so i went and got some wendys. which
made me pukey so i just came home.
at wendys tonight some lady was wiping herself down in the dining area
with napkins
me: eeeewww
lazza: now you see why i was pukey and had to go home
me: i dont like those fast food places
lazza: it was truly one of the nastiest things ive ever seen
lazza: you would have thought she was in her bathroom at home i just started laughing
And the only comment I have to make on that story is EEEEWWWWWW
Envy
If anyone suggests you rent this movie and watch it, punch them right in the
eye, seriously, its bollocks. Christopher Walken was great and Jack Black
was ok, but Ben Stiller was Ben Stiller, which dragged the whole movie down.
Coachella
Laurel left today, to visit with her brothers on the way to meeting me in
France in early may. One of the reasons she is visiting LA on the way is
(apart from visiting her family of course) is to go to Coachella. I’m sure she will have a great
time.

Well it is dead on my laptop, it was close enough to linux but different
enough to annoy the hell out of me, so its gone. Back to linux I go.

You’ll notice that on the left nav now there is now a list of the most
listened to artists of last week. It should automagically update each week.
Theres a hole in the bucket dear liza.
Well in the roof actually, we had the roof repaired which seems to have
introduced a hole. Consquently last night water came dripping out of the
light socket in my office and blew the fuse. The roofing guys came back
today and after looking around have discovered the hole and patched it. So
Ill give it a few more days to dry out before I try turning the light on
again.
UPDATE 2006/04/10: Looks like it fixed
Well it fair bucketed down last night, and no more water came through, so I
think it might be all fixed now. Well heres hoping anyway.

Labour called it unbalanced, disapointing and narrow. Gerry Brownlee the
National Party’s spokesman for Maori Affair (which in itself is a complete
joke, its like having Robert Mugabe as spokesman for white farmers in
Zimbabwe) said, “The Government should show this report the respect it
deserves by throwing it straight into the dustbin.”
Not even an admission that at least some of it is right, or that there is
more they can do. No they launch straight into we have the best race
relations in the world. We stole a bunch of land, passed and continue to pass
racist laws, tortured and murdered .. but hey at least we are better than a lot of other countries.
Well that crap doesn’t wash with me.
