Well I guess first I need telstraclear to hurry up with their digital cable.
But then I need some kinda PVR, so I dont keep missing the adult swim
cartoons on cartoon network. Tonigh its Space Ghost coast to coast, then
Aqua teen hunger force, followed by Sealab 2021 and finally the Brak show.
Four insane and yet funny cartoons in a row.

Trogdor!!!!
So I forgot to write about this, so I’ll write it up now. While we were in
Dunedin for Laurel’s interview at the School of Medicine we went shopping
and stopped to eat at the foodcall in the mall there.
I spotted a guy wearing a Trogdor tshirt, so I
told Laurel I’d give her $5 if she went over and yelled “Trogdooooooooor” at
him. So Laurel took it up a level and went over and sang a big chunk of the
song. The guy took it pretty well, his girlfriend was a bit embarassed, but
what can you expect if you go out with someone wearing a trogdor tshirt.
What are TelstraClear playing at this time?
Ok paradise.net.nz used to be a fantastic ISP. Then telstraclear bought it,
and its steadily sucked more, almost monthly. The latest piece of madness is
their transparent proxy is stopping me from accessing a bunch of websites.
Most annoyingly lists.sourceforge.net is one of those. Its a ‘known fault’
which just means that it’ll get fixed only when enough people complain.
I really resent the degradation of the service, since ive had my cablemodem
account in this house, they have depeered from all the peering exchanges,
implemented (badly) transparent proxying and had intermittent connectivity
outages. But I still pay exactly the same every month .. for what is now a
vastly inferior product. Dickheads!
Links to random images broken
The links from the random images that appear in the top right are currently
broken. I broke some rewrite rules in the apache config I think. I’ll fix
them at some point.
Arsehat of the year
Goes to the wussy piece of shit who tortured and ended up killing a golden
retriever. And then went on to do the same to cats .. and who knows how many
other animals before that. What a hard man, torturing tame pets. Its for
people like that, that kneecapping was invented.
And as for the dumb policeman who ranked burglaries of a higher importance.
Do you really want someone who does this sort of thing wandering around? Its
just a matter of time till he graduates to humans.
The Green Room
So we went to see some stand up comedy last night, upstairs at Kitty
O’Sheas. On the whole it was really good, lots of funny moments. But the
first woman was pretty excruciatingly bad .. strange choice of subject
matter, and didnt really pull it off at all. Nevermind, congrats to her for
having the guts to give it a crack anyway.
Kung Fu Hustle
This is an absolutely hilarious movie. Imagine Capone mixed with Pulp
Fiction with some of the effects from the matrix … with the humour of
drunken master thrown in, and you are getting pretty close. Definitely the
funniest film I have seen in quite a while.
More work on Reviews
Today I got the reviews displaying in the opac, it only shows the approved
ones. If there are reviews available a count of them will display on the
opac. If you click on the number you will see the actual reviews
Book reviews in Koha
Ive been working on reviews in Koha this weekend. So far you can make a new
review or edit one you have alredy made. Each review is marked not approved,
what I need to do now is make an interface to let the librarians mark one
approved, and then displaying it in the opac. You can see screenshots
of what I have so far.
Koha
Bill Hicks was right.
So I just watched possibly the most retarded advertisement Ive seen in
recent times. A big speil about someone who is apparently the best chef in
the world, then we jump to and in NZ you need a chartered accountant. WTF??
As I said Bill Hicks was right, if you are in marketing and advertising, you
serve no useful purpose.
