Well that was just slaughter, we didn’t even come close to slightly
troubling the Australian Cricket team. And it can only get worse with the
tests coming up and us recruiting kindergarten kids to play, meanwhile
aussie has about a million reserve players.
I’m off down south on thursday to watch the first test with my Grandma,
should be good cricket even if we do get thrashed.

This incarnation of my blog turns 1
Officially making it the longest running peronal site ive ever had. Usually
I get bored within a week, so its a testament to how easy blosxom is to use. I dunno if it will
survive to two .. but we’ll see.
Woeful
Well that was just a complete thrashing the Aussie cricketers dished out to
us yesterday. Still at least when they win, they do it in style not tick
around taking ages to do it.
Browniepoints goes live
Now all of you living overseas who have friends or family in New Zealand. Browniepoints is here to help
you out with you gift buying needs.
The
Cosmic Rocket looks like a lot of fun, hint, hint.
Joint award today
For Gerry Brownlee and Don Brash, for continuing on their One New Zealand
campaign.
“The next National Government won’t require public servants to subscribe to a
particular view of the Treaty. Only National can be trusted to deliver
policies based on need not race,” Says Mr Brownlee.
Which sounds good and all, but is a huge crock of shit, because if they want
to deliver policies based on needs, theyd be hiking the tax rates of the
rich way the hell up. And you know that isnt gonna happen.
‘Based on need not race’ is a sop to redneck morons who have the critical
thinking skills of a gnat. Which sadly make up a sizeable chunk of our
population.
What they mean is ‘We will throw out all policies that mention anything to
do with the Treaty, or Maori and replace them with absolutely nothing.
Meanwhile our consituents the rich white of NZ will continue living off
their stolen land.’
At least the ‘canes won
Well its been a fairly weak few days for NZ sport, we are now down 3-0 in
the ODI series against Australia. Only pride left to play for now. But at
least the Hurricanes held out against some fairly crap ref decisions to win
agains the Queensland reds. Lets hope they can keep it up for next week.
Quote of the game
Referee: I want to see positive play from your guys.
Tana Umaga: How about some positive refereeing then.
TelstraClear break the internet.
Yay for telstraclear, they turned off peering in wellington at 11am today.
Busting big chunks of the network in wellington and slowing all the rest down.
As far as I know this is so they can extort money out of all the local
content providers and isp’s to buy connectivity off of them.
Lots to do.
Its super busy here at the moment, tons to do at work. Lots of non work
related stuff to do as well. Im way behind on sending back my flat stanley
and flat stacey to the US. Ill get on to that this week, can’t keep the kids
waiting.
If you have stuff you want me to do … you’ll go into a priority queue ..
just a warning 🙂
Complete and utter bigoted arsehat
From the NZ Herald (a bastion of bigotedness in itself).
‘Foodtown’s efforts to help the “give it a go” Maori language effort has
lost it an Auckland customer who says he was offended by a lesson on the
store’s public address system. ‘
Maybe his ancestors should have thought of that before they came to NZ and
stole a big chunk of land to live on. Cracker!!
Well it wasnt quite the result we wanted.
But for the most part it was a fun day out. Yes, thats right I’m talking
about the cricket. Having a few drinks with some of the team afterwards was
fun too, a big thank you to the Backbencher and Lion Brown.
